With a strong social chapter, and commitment to integrated sustinable weed management for the protection of our beautiful bounding bushlands, Highlands Landcare has a great reputation.
In particular it's annual Blackberry Saturday's are renowned, where Highlands Landcare members assist other Landcare groups around the region and state in managing their blackberries, in exchange for a friendly cricket match and BBQ afterwards!
Recent 'Getting Bogged' field day attracted over 75 people interested in learning more about the ecology of our unique bogs. Ecology Australia botanists located the largest sub- alpine sphagnum moss wetland in Victoria in Highlands during recent surveys as well as many rare bog plants.
