Our Projects:
Pasture Cropping Project
This project has build on the overwhelming interest demonstrated by farmers who attended the “Doing it differently” forum, and more recently the Advanced Pasture Cropping courses in 2008/09. This project is covering many Landcare group areas and Catchment management areas. The project will assess pasture cropping principles across a range of local environments, and the persistence of perennial grasses in a winter dominant rainfall climate. Demonstration sites have been established at: Chesney Vale, Bungeet, Benalla, Meadow Creek and Markwood.

Riparian Restoration Project
Through this project we are actively working with Landholders to reduce the effect of erosion on our creeks and gullies. Sites have been selected through an EOI process where eroded areas will be fenced off and returned to native vegetation. These actions will have multiple benefits with bank stabilisation, establishment of native vegetation creating biolinks and habitat, water filtration and water retention.
