Help in Common Mynah Control
A project has been launched promoting community awareness and participation in a new Program to prevent the spread of the Common (or Indian) Myna into the Albury Wodonga and associated Region.
A group with community and govt. agency representation has formed in response to this looming biodiversity threat. Your support will assist in the successful implementation of the program.
Raising community/agency awareness of the threats posed by the Myna is the main focus of the Program. However, we believe that increased awareness will translate into significant progress in halting the spread of the Myna - ensuring we keep the broader Alb. Wod. Region Myna free.
"Please see the 2-page pamphlet":Common_Indian_Myna.pdf/view to distribute to your colleages, friends, staff, and group members. Actions to assist in achieving the program objectives are listed.
We will be compiling a Myna register with emphasis on observations and control actions in the urban/rural fringe north of Wangaratta in the broader Alb Wod Region. This will help to build a better picture of Myna distribution and abundance and hence target future actions accordingly.
Pls contact me if you have information or ideas to contribute, or any queries regarding the program
