North East Landcarers achieve four Victorian Landcare Awards
Congratulations to the representatives from the North East Landcare community who took out four categories in the 2003 Victorian Landcare Awards. The awards were formally presented by John Landy, AC, MBE, Governor of Victoria at the ceremony at Government House in Melbourne on 19th August.
Winners of Victorian Landcare Awards Categories from the North East included:
Alcoa Landcare Community Group Award - Burgoigee Creek Landcare Group
Landcare Australia Local Government Award - Indigo Shire Council
Rural Press Landcare Primary Producer Award - Sandy and Sue Campbell
Westpac Landcare Education Award - Edi Upper Primary School
Sandy and Sue Campbell also received the HiFert Sustainable Farming Award (NE region)
In addition, Stan and Maisie Enders were highly commended in the Bushcare Nature Conservation Award.
"This is an outstanding level of commitment by members of Landcare in the region and it is pleasing to see this effort recognised." said John Riddiford, Chief Executive Officer of the North East CMA.
