Welcome to the Yarram Yarram Landcare Network's Website. On these pages you will find the latest information about Landcare Groups and community based Natural Resource Management in the Yarram region of South East Gippsland.

Albert River Landcare Group
Albert River Landcare Group looks after community based natural resource management in the areas between Tarraville and Binginwarri with forward thinking and long serving members such as Jenny Davies who has recently been awarded with the YYLN's Individual Landcare Award.
Binginwarri Landcare Group
Binginwarri is a sub-group of the YYLN. Members have been actively serving the community for a long time with up and coming projects including the revitalisation and enhacement of a local public area.
Carrajung and Districts Landcare Group
The Carrajung and Districts Landcare Group have been a highly active group for many years. Formerly known as the Carrajung Ragwart and Weed Control Group, their main priority previously was tackling weeds in their local area. Recently, the Group has been heavily involved in maintaining and enhancing the Jungadale Nature Reserve, completing such works as track maintenance, weed control and rubbish removal.
Giffard Darriman Landcare Group
Landholders in the Giffard Darriman area actively promote, encourage and participate in Landcare Group activities in the Giffard Plains area between Woodside and Seaspray.
Hedley Landcare Group
Hedley Landcare Group is a sub group of the YYLN. Members are actively working around the Hedley area and are currently involved in a large roadside restoration project along the 9 Mile Creek, adjacent to the 9 Mile Creek Picnic Area, off the South Gippsland Highway. In December 2007, weed spraying was undertaken along the Creek, and this winter (2008), the West Gippsland Catchment Management Authority's Yarram Field Crew will be re-planting the Creek banks with indigenous species.
Madalya Landcare Group
The Madalya Landcare Group is a very active group that looks after the Madalya area of the YYLN region. Madalya Landcare Group members are involved in riparian protection in the upper reaches of the Jack and Albert Rivers and actively target pest plants such as blackberries. In March 2008, the Group held a field day on a property at Madalya, demonstrating the Bush Broker Offset Scheme. Members of the Group are also actively involved as Waterwatch volunteers.
Merriman Creek Landcare Group
Merriman Creek Landcare Group members actively participate in Landcare activities throughout their region of Stradbroke - Seaspray. Notably, they are currently engaged in a landscape level project that targets Merriman Creek between the South Gippsland Highway and Seaspray. Known as the Merriman Creek Biodiversity Project, the first stage of the Project (which involved spraying much of the length of the Creek for woody weeds, between the South Gippsland Highway and Owen's Lane) is now complete. The Merriman Creek Landcare Group were successful in receiving an Envirofund Grant for the Project.
Tarraville Landcare Group
One of the YYLN's oldest groups, many of Tarraville's members have been active in Landcare for decades. Tarraville Landcare Group members look after those areas to the east of Yarram between Port Albert and McLoughlins Beach.
Won Wron Devon North Landcare Group
The members of Won Wron Devon North Landcare Group are very active and recently won the YYLN's Community Group Award for their work on the Boodyarn Road to link Won Wron North and South Forests. Group members have been involved in Landcare for a very long time and some of the Landcare projects that members are proposing into 2008 are a result of whole farm planning and landscape integration.
Wonyip Landcare Group
Wonyip Landcare Group represents Landholders in the Wonyip area of the YYLN. They are an extremely active and forward thinking group and are involved in everything from planning with Hancocks Victoria Plantations for the re-establishment of native vegetation along riparian areas within plantation land, to weed and fox control on their own land.
Woodside Landcare Group
Woodside Landcare Group takes care of Landcare activites around the areas of Woodside along the South Gippsland Highway. Their boundaries go south to McLoughlins Beach, east to Woodside Beach and north to Giffard Darriman. They are a very active and social group whose members are heavily involved in the control of pest plants and animals, salinity remediation and revegetation work on their land.
