Whiteheads Creek

Founded in 1986 Whiteheads Creek Landcare is one of the state oldest groups. Main projects in the past were soil erosion and salinity. Projects have covered tree plantations in recharge and discharge areas. Pasture establishment in saline areas. Salinity Trail and Watertable monitoring bores. Current projects include understorey restoration , wildlife corridors and treeplanting with the Murray Darling Rescue Scouts. The Rabbit Buster program offers assistance for with rabbit control. All landholders can apply for subsidized herbicide to control target weeds - gorse , blackberry , patto , chilean needle grass and bridal creeper . Meet held bi-monthly at the Whiteheads Creek Hall . Check the community notice board at the Fire Shed for meeting dates coming events.
